Our Story

Kulturalis is a publishing company committed to cross-cultural exchange. We bring a wealth of experience to our bespoke services for museums, galleries and other cultural institutions around the world, producing outstanding publications, both in print and deploying newer technologies.

The company fulfils a long-held ambition of our Managing Director, Neil Titman, whose experience as a publisher of books for clients in the education, art and heritage sectors spans more than a decade, and Charlotte Kramer, owner and president of Müller & Schindler, the world’s leading and longest-running publisher of beautiful facsimile editions for the world’s finest libraries and museums. After numerous encounters on the road – and the realisation that they were producing different kinds of publication for the same family of institutions – Charlotte and Neil concluded that their aims interlocked, and it was only a matter of time before they joined forces. In October 2023, Kulturalis was born.

Kulturalis’s diverse and multilingual team offers decades of experience producing the finest publications for leading institutions across a broad range of sectors – art, heritage, education, religion, architecture, sport, corporate and more. We are all united in our passion for communicating the fascinating stories of the world’s cultures to audiences across the globe. We publish in all languages required by our clients and offer a tailored, strongly collaborative service that ensures that our publications both meet our clients’ needs and have broad appeal.

We are part of the Universal Art Group, founded by Charlotte Kramer and her business partner, Alexander Wilhelm, in 2024 to bring together like-minded companies from across Europe in a united goal of cultural exchange. The Group currently includes Kulturalis, Müller & Schindler, Faksimile Verlag, Halta Definizione, Eikon Editores, Living Manuscripts and Medieval Art Stories. Each member of the Group is able to offer not only its own services but those of its partner companies, and together we offer a comprehensive range of publications and other products to institutions and individuals across the different sectors in which we operate.

Message from our Managing Director

Welcome to Kulturalis. Our team of publishing professionals are united by a desire to promote and disseminate the cultures of the world. Through our publications we aim to introduce the vibrant individuality of our clients – their artistic heritage, their customs and way of life, their beliefs and their great institutions – to a wide and discerning audience that embraces the rich diversity of our shared humanity. An audience that might be inspired to make a detour, long or short, to one of the destinations described in our publications, or to recognise and welcome a visitor from a location they have discovered through our books.

We work with institutions – museums, galleries, heritage sites, ministries, universities and schools, religious sites – and individuals – writers, artists, academics – to tell their stories through engaging text and images. We publish in all languages, print and digital, as well as audio and braille. Our focus is on cross-cultural exchange, and on fostering interest, friendship and understanding between different cultural communities. We support and celebrate all who share this aim.

I am thrilled to have been joined in this endeavour by a team whose experience and technical expertise – in editorial, production, finance, business development – is matched by their commitment to bringing communities together through their work. We hope that our books and our services will inspire you to share your own stories and enjoy those of others.

Neil Titman
